‘The scope of the works to be done in Goodwood includes the milling and removal of the existing road surface and resurfacing it with a new asphalt surface, including selected parking embayments. All road markings removed during the process will also be reinstated with retro-reflective road markings. I thank residents for their patience and look forward to the new fresh looking roads that will improve the overall riding quality in the area as well as the general road safety conditions in Goodwood,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Rob Quintas
Congestion is expected therefore the City recommends that road users be cautious while work is under way by looking out for uneven road surfaces, being mindful of the construction workers and factoring in a longer travel time or considering alternative routes.
Resurfacing maintenance on existing roads forms part of the City of Cape Town road maintenance system.
