The City hereby submits its draft policy for public comment. The existing 2014 policy is due for a revision. The primary desired outcome of this policy is the efficient and effective design, and construction of electricity reticulation infrastructure in formal residential and informal residential areas.
This policy is important for the continued sustainability of the electricity grid and the reliability of electricity provision in the city.
In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, the public and interested parties or groups are given the opportunity to submit comments, recommendations or input to the municipality from 4 November to 4 December 2023.
